Checklist

I have used this checklist from the task sheet to help record what I had done. I'm not sure what the other ones I have not mentioned mean. I may have applied those in my assignment, but I am not entirely sure.

I have also used photoshop to edit and make mouths move. I have used tools like:

Title?

I was having bit of trouble to name my project. Originally, I thought I should call it Colourblue. Colour, meaning the amount of colour being revealed as the animation progressed. Blue, meaning her emotion, feeling blue. But after a couple hours of thinking I finally found the Treasures In New Yoke. Making the treasures being Annie's new friends she found in New Yoke. I'm happy with my title and I believe it will help make the storyline and message easier to understand.

XTREME ZOOOOOOOOOM OUT

I did my zoom out today! How I did it was I needed to gradually zoom out in same lengths. I decided to use the containers which the tablets are in. I decided to use these as they would be equal measurements as the camera moves up. So it wouldn't look too jerky. I believe this method worked as it makes the zoom out look natural, rather than jerky and uneven, which is what I want to avoid. I realised that some of my buildings looked a bit untidy. I put the images into photoshop and used the paintbrush tool to make them look more professional. Also there was a bit of the background missing. I used the clone stamp tool and extended the background. I can't notice it too much in the animation but it looks a lot better than what it looked like before. Here's how it turned out:

Reflections

In my stop motion I decided to add a 'reflection' scene so my animation would be able to be submitted into the film festival. Annie looks into a puddle and sees he reflection waving at her. I found it hard to make my reflection look realistic. I used a photo of my puddle I made from paper, placed it into photoshop and used previous images I took to use the clone stamp tool and copy the image of Annie into the puddle. I felt like this didn't look very realistic so I thought I could cover it with a blue tint. I am going to place this image into photoshop and use the paintbrush tool, using a soft brush and paint over it to make it blend in with puddle. I asked Mr Andrews how I could make it look even more realistic. He suggested I should use te ripple effect and make the puddle look like it actually is water and it is actually is moving. Here's how the image turned out:

I think it does look really cool and really realistic. I did by using the selection tool and pressing <Edit>Distort>Ripple>. I selected Large and made it to 33%. 

This definitely made the puddle look a lot more realistic, instead of making it look like a piece of blue cardboard on the ground.

House Broken :(

Today when I arrived in Media and I was sure I would finish my entire project today, I opened the box with my house inside. It was broken. I think someone may of accidentally pushed it off the table or some younger girls may of taken it apart. I tried to fix it during the lesson, but I found that some of the lego pieces were missing. Instead of finishing my stop motion today, I ended up re-filming my extreme zoom out scene and trying to fix my broken house. This little problem did stunt my planning and I am running out of time. I have borrowed out a computer this weekend, so I am sure I will get my project done.

Photoshopping Flowers

I photoshopped some flowers into the colourful image to make it look prettier and brighter. Here's how I did it.

I took a photo of each flower in a different position. I selected one photo and started to build on flowers from this.
Here is the image I started with:

I then photoshopped another bunch of flowers in the left hand corner.

Then I gradually added on each flower bunch and here is the finished product:

I decided to do this as I thought it would make the world seem more colourful and prettier compared to the environment she was living in.

Scene 8 is done!

This lesson, I fixed some of my filming for scene 8. What had happened before was while my three girls were walking towards the boy, the floor moved while they were walking. This was a problem as it made that scene look unprofessional. I fixed the floor by sticking it to the ground with double sided tape. I also photoshopped the boy's mouth to make him look worried as his pig is stuck in a rope, attached to a building. I used this image to help guide me to draw the mouth.

Here's my image:

I did this by entering photoshop, opening this picture and used the clone stamp tool to 'erase' the mouth of the character. I then made a black outline of the mouth and filled it with white using the paint brush tool. I think these two mouths do resemble each other and it does look very good!
